Prothrombin Time (PT) with INR

This blood test evaluates how efficiently your blood clots, helping identify potential bleeding or clotting disorders before they become serious health concerns. By measuring how long it takes your blood to form a clot, this test provides valuable insight into your body’s ability to stop bleeding after injury or surgery. It is commonly ordered as a preventive screening, a pre-surgical safety measure, or as part of ongoing medical care.   This test includes Prothrombin Time (PT): which measures how well clotting factors involved in the extrinsic and common pathways work together to form a blood clot. And  International Normalized Ratio (INR): A standardized calculation based on PT that allows clotting results to be accurately compared across different laboratories and is essential for monitoring anticoagulant therapy.

Ferritin Test

The Ferritin Test measures the level of ferritin in your blood, which reflects how much iron your body has stored. Ferritin is a protein found in nearly all cells and serves as the primary storage form of iron. Most iron stores are located in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow.  Because ferritin levels closely reflect total body iron, this test is considered the most reliable single blood test for identifying iron deficiency, often detecting low iron stores before anemia develops.  Ferritin testing is also used to help identify iron overload conditions, monitor iron-related treatment, and distinguish iron-deficiency anemia from other types of anemia. Since ferritin can increase during inflammation or infection, results are best interpreted alongside symptoms and other lab tests.

Iron and Total Iron Binding Capacity

The Iron & Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) Test is a comprehensive blood test designed to evaluate both the amount of iron in your blood and how effectively your body transports that iron. Together, these measurements provide a clearer picture of iron balance than iron testing alone, helping uncover both deficiency and overload states.  Iron plays a critical role in hemoglobin production, oxygen delivery, energy metabolism, and overall cellular function. When iron levels are too low, the body cannot produce enough healthy red blood cells, often leading to fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and shortness of breath. When iron levels are too high, excess iron can accumulate in tissues and organs, potentially causing joint pain, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, and long-term organ damage.  The TIBC portion of this test measures how much iron-binding protein (primarily transferrin) is available in the blood. This helps determine how efficiently iron is being transported throughout the body. Elevated TIBC levels often indicate iron deficiency, while low TIBC levels may suggest iron overload or chronic illness affecting iron metabolism.

Sickle Cell Screening

The Sickle Cell Anemia Test is a diagnostic blood test used to detect Hemoglobin S (HbS), the abnormal form of hemoglobin responsible for sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. Hemoglobin plays a vital role in carrying oxygen throughout the body, and when HbS is present, red blood cells can become rigid and crescent-shaped, disrupting normal blood flow and oxygen delivery. Sickle cell disease is a hereditary blood disorder that occurs when a person inherits two copies of the sickle cell gene, one from each parent. These abnormal red blood cells can break down prematurely and block small blood vessels, leading to pain episodes (sickle cell crises), anemia, infection risk, and organ damage over time. Individuals who inherit only one copy of the sickle cell gene have sickle cell trait. While they typically do not experience symptoms, they can pass the gene to their children. Identifying carrier status is especially important for family planning and understanding genetic risk.  This test provides clear, reliable insight into sickle cell status through a simple blood draw. Early detection supports proactive medical care, informed health decisions, and better long-term outcomes for individuals and families affected by sickle cell conditions.

Vitamin B-12 and Folic Acid

The Vitamin B12 & Folic Acid (Folate) Test measures blood levels of two essential nutrients required for healthy red blood cell production, DNA synthesis, and nervous system function. Because these vitamins work closely together, testing them at the same time provides a clearer picture of nutritional status and related health risks. Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is critical for nerve health, energy metabolism, and proper formation of red blood cells. When B12 levels are low, red blood cells may become abnormally large and inefficient at carrying oxygen, leading to a type of anemia known as macrocytic anemia. Prolonged deficiency can also cause neurological symptoms that may become irreversible if left untreated. Folic acid (folate) plays an equally important role in cell division and red blood cell development. Adequate folate levels are especially critical during pregnancy, as deficiency increases the risk of neural tube defects in a developing fetus. Low folate can also result in anemia and a range of systemic symptoms affecting energy and overall health.  This test measures blood levels of, Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin): Evaluates nerve health, red blood cell formation, and metabolic function and Folic Acid (Folate): Assesses DNA synthesis, red blood cell production, and pregnancy-related nutritional needs.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)

The C-Reactive Protein (CRP) test measures levels of CRP, a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation, infection, or tissue injury. CRP levels rise rapidly, often within hours, making this test a sensitive marker for detecting active inflammation in the body. Although CRP does not identify the specific cause of inflammation, elevated levels can signal acute injury, bacterial infection, autoimmune activity, or post-surgical complications. This test is commonly used in clinical settings to assess inflammatory status and monitor how conditions respond to treatment.  This test measures standard CRP levels in your blood to evaluate the presence and severity of inflammation.

Lupus Panel

The Lupus Panel is a specialized blood test designed to help identify Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), the most common and complex form of lupus. SLE is a chronic autoimmune disease that can affect multiple organs and systems, often presenting with symptoms that fluctuate in severity and are difficult to diagnose without targeted testing. In lupus, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues, triggering widespread inflammation that may impact the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain. Because symptoms can vary greatly from person to person and often overlap with other conditions, laboratory testing plays a critical role in uncovering autoimmune activity early.  This panel focuses on detecting antinuclear antibodies (ANA), a hallmark finding in lupus, using indirect immunofluorescence (IFA)—the gold standard method for ANA detection. When ANA is positive, reflex testing automatically provides additional disease-specific antibody insights, offering a more precise and informative assessment. This panel includes advanced antibody testing to evaluate autoimmune activity associated with lupus: ANA Test by IFA (Indirect Immunofluorescence): Detects antinuclear antibodies using the gold standard method for autoimmune screening ANA Reflex Testing (if ANA is positive): ANA titer and fluorescence pattern Double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) antibodies Smith (Sm) antibodies Chromatin antibodies These combined results help determine the presence, pattern, and intensity of autoimmune activity commonly seen in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

ESR Test

The Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) test is a widely used blood test that helps identify inflammation occurring anywhere in the body. It works by measuring how quickly red blood cells settle to the bottom of a tube over a set period of time. When inflammation is present, certain proteins in the blood cause red blood cells to clump together and fall faster than normal, resulting in an elevated ESR.  Because inflammation plays a role in many acute and chronic conditions, the ESR test serves as an important early indicator of underlying immune or inflammatory activity. While it does not diagnose a specific disease, it provides valuable insight into whether the body is experiencing an inflammatory response that may require further evaluation.  The ESR test has long been used in clinical care to help monitor autoimmune disorders, infections, arthritis, cardiovascular conditions, and other inflammatory diseases. It is especially useful for tracking disease progression over time and assessing how well treatments are working, making it a reliable tool for ongoing health monitoring.
